Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem – In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds, and peace and blessings upon His beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
In the Quran, Allah tells us about different kinds of regrets and the lessons we can learn from them. These teachings are like a guiding light that helps us understand the consequences of our actions and choices. Here are some of the regrets mentioned in the Quran and see what wisdom we can gain from them.
Surah Al-Furqan (25:27-29)
“…And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, “Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way. Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend. He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter.”
Surah Al-Fajr (89:34)
“Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life.”
Surah An-Naba (78:40)
Indeed, We have warned you of an impending punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, “Oh, I wish that I were dust!”
Surah Al-An’am (6:27)
If you could but see when they are made to stand before the Fire and will say, “Oh, would that we could be returned [to life on earth] and not deny the signs of our Lord and be among the believers.”
Surah Al-Kahf (18:42)
“..Oh, I wish I had not associated with my Lord anyone.”
Surah Al-Ahzab (33:66)
The Day their faces will be turned about in the Fire, they will say, “How we wish we had obeyed Allāh and obeyed the Messenger.”
Surah Al-Haqqah (69:25-29)
But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, “Oh, I wish I had not been given my record.
