One thing that all men of faith strive towards is the entrance to Jannat-ul-Firdaus. For a believer, paradise is always within reach, lest we tend to stray from the path leading to it. The people who will be blessed with the entry to Paradise on the Day of Judgment is only known to Allah (SWT), and Allah (SWT) alone.
The term “Ashara Mubashara” refers to the ten companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who were granted the good news of paradise during their lifetimes by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself.
The Ten Promised Paradise (Ashara Mubashara)
- Abu Bakr al-Siddiq
- Umar ibn al-Khattab
- Uthman ibn Affan
- Ali ibn Abi Talib
- Talha ibn Ubaidullah
- Zubair ibn al-Awwam
- Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf
- Sa’id ibn Zayd
- Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah
- Sa’id ibn Abi Waqqas
In a hadith narrated Narrated ‘Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Awf:
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بنِ عَوْفٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم “ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَعُمَرُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَعُثْمَانُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَعَلِيٌّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَطَلْحَةُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَالزُّبَيْرُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَسَعْدٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَسَعِيدٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَأَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ” .
“Abu Bakr will be in Paradise, ‘Umar will be in Paradise, ‘Usmaan will be in Paradise, ‘Ali will be in Paradise, Talhah will be in Paradise, al-Zubayr will be in Paradise, ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn ‘Awf will be in Paradise, Sa’d will be in Paradise, Sa’eed will be in Paradise, and Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarraah will be in Paradise.”
