8 Ways To Increase Barakah (Blessings) In Your Time/Life
Barakah is an Arabic word that means “blessing” or “abundance.” It is a concept in Islam that refers to the divinely-ordained increase in the value and benefits of things. Barakah can be found in all aspects of life, including our time, wealth, health, relationships, and spiritual well-being.
There are many ways to increase barakah in our lives. Some of the most important ways include:
Be a morning person.
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“O Allah, bless my nation in their early mornings.”
[Sunan Ibn Majah #2236]
This is because the early morning hours are a time of peace and tranquility, when the mind is clear and the heart is open. It is also a time when the barakah of Allah is most abundant.
Be God-fearing
Allah SWT says in the Quran:
Allah (SWT) says, “Whosoever is conscious of Allah, He makes for them a way out [of any difficulty] and provides for them sustenance from whence they cannot conceive.”
[Qur’an, 65:2-3].
When we are conscious of Allah and His presence, we are more likely to make good choices and avoid evil. This will lead to a life that is blessed and prosperous.
Give Sadaqah
Allah SWT says in the Quran: “Verily those who give sadaqah, men, and women, and lend Allah a goodly loan, it shall be increased manifold, and theirs shall be an honorable good reward (Paradise)”.
[Quran 57:18].

Be Grateful
being grateful is the primary way of increasing what blessings we already have, as Allah mentions,
“If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more.”
[Quran 14:7]
When we trust in Allah, we are acknowledging that He is the ultimate source of all blessings. This can help to reduce stress and anxiety, and allow us to focus on being grateful for what we have.
Eat Together
Allah says, “Seek your Lord’s forgiveness, ˹for˺ He is truly Most Forgiving.
He will shower you with abundant rain, supply you with wealth and children, and give you gardens as well as rivers.” [Qur’an 71:10-12]
May Allah (SWT) increase Barakah into our lives and give us the opportunity to reap countless blessings in this life and the One that’s inevitably to come. Ameen.
