Hadiths about blessings of Zamzam.

Zamzam is a blessed water body, which quenches thirsting people across the globe, especially the Haji who travel to Mecca and Madina for Haj. Zamzam water is known for its purity, cooling & refreshing nature and quench thirsty features. It is associated with prophets Ibrahim A.S., Ismail A.S., Prophet Muhammed S.A.W. and Hajira A.S.  The well of Zamzam water is situated in Mecca and few meters east of Kabaah. The well is 35 meters deep.

The Prophet Muhammad ( Peace Be Upon Him) said:

“The best water on the surface of the earth is that of Zamzam. In it there is a food for the hungry and a cure for the ill”.

[Al-Mu’jam Al-Kabeer: 11004]

On the authority of Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, reported: I was sitting with Abdullah ibn Abbas when a man came and he said, “From where did you come?” The man said, “From the Zamzam well.” Ibn Abbas said, “Did you drink from it as you should?” The man said, “How is that?” Ibn Abbas said, “When you drink from it, then face the direction of prayer and remember the name of Allah and drink three times and drink your fill. When you finish, then praise Allah the Exalted. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, “Verily, the sign between us and the hypocrites is that they do not drink Zamzam water.”

Sunan Ibn Majah 3061

 The Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said:

“The best water on the face of the earth is the water of Zam-zam; it is a kind of food and a healing from sickness.”

{Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3302}

The Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him) has said:

“The water of Zamzam is a cure for whatever (ailment) it is taken for.”

Uthman ibn al-Aswad reported that a man came to Ibn Abbas and Ibn Abbas asked him where he was coming from. The man said I had just finished drinking from zamzam. Ibn Abbas then asked me if he had drunk like it deserved it. He asked him, how that is Ibn Abbas, He said, ‘When you drink it, face the qibla, then mention God’s name, then drink it in three breaths, and drink your fill with it and when you are done, praise God, (This is because) the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, ‘One of the differences between us and the hypocrites is that they do not drink their fill of the water of zamzam.'”

Hardly any water body present in the world except Zamzam which are free of germs and bacteria. It has been studies by Dr. Yahya Koshak, an expert on Zamzam that the water doesn’t contain any contaminants. It has been treated by ultraviolet ray’s and found that there is no possibility of finding bacteria in this revered water.

The German scientist Dr. Knut Pfeiffer, the head of the largest medical centre in Munich has studied that Zamzam water amazingly increased the energy levels in the cell systems of the body.

It is the purest form of water on the Erath because of its containing of adequate amount of bicarbonates (366mg/l), which is even higher from the French Alps water (bicarbonates-357mg/l).

Zamzam is of healing nature. It contains required amount of Ca and Mg. It is germicidal in nature because of its fluorides presence. These facts have been proved scientifically.
