Duas for Exam Success | Exams can be a stressful and overwhelming time for students. The pressure to perform well and achieve good grades can weigh heavily on their minds and bodies. Students have the opportunity to prove their hard work and academic abilities through exams.

Here are inspiring Duas to help you get through the exam period. 

 

Dua for Knowledge:

رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا

Rabbi Zidni Ilma

“My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”

 Surah Taha ayah 114.

 

Dua of Prophet Musa’s (peace be upon him)

 

رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي

Rabbishrah lee side Wayassir lee agree Wahlul ‘uqdatan min lisanee Yafqahoo qawlee

“O Sustainer of my Life! Open my heart and make my work easier for me, and untie the knot in my tongue so people can completely comprehend what I’m saying.”

 

Surah Ta-ha (25-28)

 

Dua for Beneficial knowledge:

 

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً

 

It was narrated from Umm Salamah that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed the Subh (morning prayer), while he said the Salam, he would say:
 
‘Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘ilman nafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan
 
(O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision and acceptable deeds).’”
 
 
Upon recitation of this Dua, we’re asking Allah (SWT) to increase us in the knowledge that will benefit us. The knowledge which doesn’t just benefit us in this world, but also hereafter
 
 

When studying for exams

 

اللهُمَّ لا سَهْلَ إلا مَا جَعَلتَهُ سَهْلا وَ أنتَ تَجْعَلُ الحزْنَ إذا شِئْتَ سَهْلا

Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja’altahu sahla, wa ‘anta taj-alul hazna idha shi’ta sahla

O Allah! There is nothing easy except what You make easy, and You make the difficult easy if it is Your Will.

 

 

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:
 
“One of the supplications that the Prophet used to say was:
 
“‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لاَ يُسْمَعُ وَمَنْ قَلْبٍ لاَ يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لاَ تَشْبَعُ ‏”
 
 
‘Allahumma, inni a’udhu bika min ‘ilmin la yanfa’u, wa mindu’a’in la yusma’u, wa min qalbin la yakhsha’u, wa min nafsin la tashba’u
 
[O Allah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that is of no benefit, from a supplication that is not heard, from a heart that does not fear (You) and from a soul that is not satisfied].'”
 

Sunan Ibn Majah

 

 

Dua for Exam Anxiety

 

حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ

HasbiyAllahu laa ilaaha illa huwa alayhi tawakkaltu wa huwa Rabbul arshil adheem

 Allah is sufficient for me. There is none worthy of worship but Him. I have placed my trust in Him. He is the Lord of the Majestic throne.

 

Allah will grant whoever recites this seven times in the morning or evening whatever he desires from this world or the next,
(Abu Dawud )
 
 

Narrated Anas bin Malik:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say,

 

‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ

Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-hammi, wal-hazani, wal-‘ajzi, wal-kasali, wal-bukhli, wal-jubni, wad-daini, wa ghalabatar-rijal

 

“O Allah! I seek refuge with You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from being heavily in debt and from being overpowered by (other) men.”

 

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

 

Dua to Increase Memory and recall forgotten things

The following Dua was taught by the Holy Prophet ﷺ to Ali (A.S.) to recite after every obligatory Salaat for developing a perfect memory. And Make it a habit or at least recite this short dua before the exam.

 

سُبْحانَ مَنْ لا يَعْتَدي عَلى أهْلِ مَمْلَكَتِهِ سُبْحانَ مَنْ لا يَأخُذُ اَهْلَ الاَْرْضِ بأَلْوانِالْعَذابِ سُبْحانَ الرَّؤوُفِ الرَّحيمِ اَللّـهُمَّاْجَعلْ لي في قَلْبى نُوراً وَبَصَراً وَفَهْماً وَعِلْماً اِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَي قَديرٌ. 

 

Glory be to Him, who does not treat the citizens of His Kingdom unjustly and harshly. Who does not let torment and pain come suddenly upon humanity? The Compassionate, the Merciful. O Allah fill my heart and mind with true enlightenment, discerning intelligence, quick understanding and knowledge, Verily Thou art able to do everything.

 

 

Dua for after studying:

 

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَوْدِعُكَ مَا قَرأتُ وَمَا حَفَظْتُ، فَرُضُهُ عَليّ عِنْدَ حَاجَتِي إِلَيهِ، إِنّكَ عَلى مَا تَشَاءُ قَدِيرُ وَأَنْتَ حَسْبِي وَنِعْمَ الوَكِيل

Allahumma inni astaodeeka ma qara’tu wama hafaz-tu. Farudduhu ‘allaya inda hajati elahi. Innaka ‘ala ma-tasha’-u qadeer wa anta hasbeeya wa na’mal wakeel

“Allah! I trusted you with all I’ve read and learned. Thank you, Allah! Return it to me after you’re done using it. Thank you, Allah! You may do as you choose; you are my helper, defender, and closest ally.”

 

Dua for maintain concentration in exam

The following can be one of the best Duas for exams. So, most of us experience a loss of strength while preparing for exams or attempting exam papers.

صلى الله على محمد وال محمد اللهم اني أسألك يا مدخر الخير وفاعله والآمر به ذكرني ما انسانيه الشيطان

 

“Blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad and his progeny. O Allah, I ask you, the one who mentions goodness and actualizes it and commands it. Please remind me of that which the shaytan makes me forget.

 

 

These will help you succeed In’sha Allah. You should perform your duas in the right manner to ensure the best results. And Of course, You must also keep a strong faith in Allah. You also need also to make an arduous effort, patience, devotion to get what you want.
