سبحان اللہ وبحمدہ سبحان اللہ العظیم
Subhaan Allahi wa bi hamdihi Subhaan Allah il-‘Azeem – These words are short and easy to say, yet the reward of reciting these words is tremendous.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said,
“(The following are) two words (sentences or utterances) that are very easy for the tongue to say, and very heavy in the balance (of reward), and most beloved to the Gracious Almighty (And they are):
Subhan Allahi wa bi-hamdihi; Subhan Allahi-l-’Adhim,”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 6682)
Get all your sins forgiven
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Whoever says, ‘Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi,’ one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea.
(Sahih al-Bukhari 6405)
Most beloved word to ALLAH
Abu Dharr reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:
Should I not inform you about the words liked most by Allah? I said: Allah’s Mes- senger, do inform me about the words liked most by Allah. He said: Verily, the words liked most by Allah are:
“Subhaan Allahi wa bi hamdihi (Glory and praise be to Allah).”
(Sahih Muslim 2731b)
Subhaan Allah wa bihamdihi astaghfirullaha wa atoobu ilayh
” سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ ”
‘Aa’ishah said:
The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) often used to say:
“Subhaan Allah wa bihamdihi astaghfirullaha wa atoobu ilayh (Glory and praise be to Allah, I ask Allah for forgiveness and I repent to Him).”
I said: O Messenger of Allah, I often see you say “Subhaan Allah wa bihamdihi astaghfirullaha wa atoobu ilayh”!
He said: “My Lord told me that I would see a sign in my ummah, and that when I saw it, I was to say often ‘Subhaan Allah wa bihamdihi astaghfirullaha wa atoobu ilayh (Glory and praise be to Allah. I ask Allah for forgiveness and I repent to Him).’ And I have seen it: {When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest} – the conquest of Makkah – {And you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes , Then exalt [Him] with praise of your Lord and ask forgiveness of Him. Indeed, He is ever Accepting of repentance} [al-Nasr 110:1-3].”llahi bihamdihi astag firullahi watubuilaih”
(Muslim 484)
