Major Sins in Islam [Gunah-e-Kabira]

Is Islam, sin is defined as “an act against the command of Allah Almighty and Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).”

Muslims should avoid sins and specially major sins because they can take a person to the hell. Major sins are those which are forbidden by Allah Almighty and Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in Holy Quran and Sunnah. It is very important for a believer to avoid those because they are the reason of severe punishment on the day of judgement.

Allah has guaranteed paradise to those who avoid them.

Allah Almighty says in the Noble Quran: “If you avoid the major sins which you have been forbidden, We will cancel out for you your (other) evil deeds and admit you (to Paradise) with a noble entry.”(Quran, 4:31)

Following are the some major sins we should avoid:

May Almighty Allah guide us to fulfill His commands and keep us away from committing all kinds of sins whether major or minor! Ameen.
